What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist (Entry Level) position at PPG Industries?
PPG Aerospace has a job opening for a Chemist (Entry-Level). As a Chemist, you will be responsible for the design, formulation, and test of aerospace sealants and adhesives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs the formulation of products to meet customer requirements and other various project tasks under direct supervision.
- Follows experimental procedures and generates reliable data. Maintains accurate and detailed lab notebooks.
- Provides clear documentation of technical results in a timely fashion to enable the team to meet deadlines and goals. Orally presents work.
- Effectively communicates and collaborates with lab peers and functions they support.
- Works in a safe manner. Follows site EHS policies and maintains clean and safe lab space.
- Acquires knowledge through interaction with others in the facility, technical literature review, and technical seminars.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar field
- Over one year of hands-on experience with wet chemistry is preferred.
- Strong work ethic. Being open-minded and responsive to feedback.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with technical information, data organization, report writing, and presentation skills
