Overview
Under general direction, the Associate Labor Relations Representative is responsible for providing labor relations counsel and guidance on labor relations issues related to contract interpretation, policy and procedure language and interpretation, grievance process administration, and union reporting and records.
This position is an on-site hybrid position and will be located in our Allentown, PA office.
Responsibilities
Helps advise management and HR Business Partners on matters related to the administration of the labor agreement, employee discipline and grievance and mediation procedures.
Interprets contractual agreements for employers and employees engaged in collective bargaining or other labor relations processes.
Prepares and maintains union employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management software.
Creates professional presentations, reports and other project correspondence as required.
Runs queries, gathers information, and generates specialized reports as needed for purposes of HR analysis.
Provides support to the grievance process, such as tracking grievances, scheduling meetings, compiling data related to information requests, and maintaining electronic grievance files.
Manages various labor processes outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
Creates and updates labor relations policies and procedures.
Creates and maintains contractual records and lists.
Prepares terms of written agreements with the union.
Prepares union monthly reports and billing.
Assists in preparation of federal mediation and arbitration.
Provides support in preparation of collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
Works on other labor-related projects as needed.
May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year of HR or labor relations experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to analyze detailed and complex data and/or issues.
Demonstrated PC proficiency with a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
