Overview
The Customer Operations Portfolio Technology Leader will provide the vision and leadership for developing and implementing technology solutions within the Meter to Customer Technology Portfolio, to support the overall business objectives defined by the Business Portfolio Leader. This role is high visibility and has a direct impact on the success of products within their portfolio. This person will be instrumental in driving the technology strategy and implementation for the Customer Operations Portfolio, working closely with the Business Portfolio Leader. This Director is recognized as an expert in their functional area and will be expected to mentor other technical team members on the team. This position reports to the VP Customer Experience, and Data Analytics.
NOTE: POSITION IS HYBRID TO OUR 3 OFFICE LOCATIONS (Allentown, PA ; Louisville, KY ; Providence, RI)
Responsibilities
1. Designs the overall meter and customer operations technological solutions for Customer Billing and Backoffice Applications with the help of the Product Portfolio leader. 2. Create an environment that drives innovation and challenges the team to explore and experiment with new ideas / technologies to grow the business. 3. Works with Business Portfolio leader and stakeholders to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical stack. 4. Experience with complex core system integration approaches, tooling, and frameworks. 5. Provides the team a roadmap for implementing software engineering best practices and alignment with architectural guardrails. 6. Creates opportunities for growth for the team members and inspires them to grow and leverage their strengths 7. Provide proactive technical oversight and mentorship to development teams fostering re-use, design for scale, stability, and operational efficiency based on strategic business needs. 8. Guides project teams on technology strategy related to coding practices, continuous delivery, and automated deployment leveraging best practices for metering and customer operations. 9. Responsible for overall support and defect management for the metering and customer operations applications and systems 10. Be hands on and engage in coding to help the team to develop its solution and solve all surfacing problems at hand (e.g., identifies and removes technical impediments), as needed. 11. Constantly looking for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo, progressively leveraging new and upcoming technologies 12. Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 8 years professional experience or master’s degree with 6 years professional experience.
Experience:
- Five or more years of direct supervisory experience.
- Experience with architecture, business continuity, various technology stacks and a breadth of technology topics
- Track record of ability to connect technology decision trade-offs to business outcomes
- Seen as an expert within the technical knowledge and practical execution
- Experience with building high performing delivery teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to explain technical concepts at all levels and align the organization on complex technical decisions
- Experience with Agile issues and perform root cause analysis
- Active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize team’s potential
- Ability to work through ambiguity - demonstrate confidence when making difficult decisions, leading through adversity with a focus on the right business outcome
