Role (Overview of the Position)
- Responsible to lead and guide sod crew in daily activities of sod replacement and landscape enhancements. Ensure the use of PPE and job site safety. Remove old turf, plants and landscape materials and replace as directed. Ensure proper functionality of job-site irrigation. Drive truck and trailer combo.
Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)
- Perform landscape enhancement work and supervise staff
- Ensure job-site safety and the use of PPE
- Instruct crew in daily activities and ensure functionality of job-site irrigation
- Drive truck and trailer to and from jobsites
- Maintain truck, trailer, and equipment in a safe and operable condition
- Make sure proper equipment, tools and inventory are stocked on truck and trailer and readily available through the workday.
- Ensure proper check in/out of job and supporting documentation of work submitted
Results (Expected Accomplishments)
- Complete enhancement work that drives revenue for the department and company
- Increased curb appeal and beautification of customer properties
- Safe work sites and the use of PPE to protect staff
- Safe operation of Truck, trailer, and equipment
- Clear direction and leadership of crew with assurance of functional irrigation
- Safe driving of company vehicle and trailer
- Truck is properly stocked for success of the crew with proper equipment and inventory
- All work sites are properly check in/out and documentation of work submitted for timely payment
Requirements (Expected Proficiencies)
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Experience in sod and plant replacement and tools required to do so
- Ability to maneuver trailer
- Ability to lead a team
- Must has valid driver’s license and CLEAN record for 5 years
