Caregiver - Full Time Central Austin

Job Summary

Caregiver is responsible for providing personal care assistance services to agency clients.  Practical Care has client's all over Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, and Georgetown.  Full time caregivers are needed for 4 to 12 hour shifts every day of the week.  We are looking for people who care about others and want to help them improve their lives.

Qualifications/Experience/Training

1.     High School Diploma

2.     Ability to read and write English

3.     At least six (6) months experience in a hospital, nursing home, home care program or hospice - preferred but not required

4.     First Aid and CPR Certification preferred but not required

5.     C.N.A. Certification preferred but not required

6.     Homecare experience

Responsibilities

1.     Provide personal care to clients in their place of residence including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, and grooming,

2.     Provide homemaker services including light housekeeping, laundry, meals, shopping, and transportation

3.     Promote a harmonious, pleasant, attractive, and safe environment

4.     Encourage and assist clients in activities of daily living

5.     Promote principles of good nutrition including planning and preparation of meals, observing dietary instructions

6.     Observe noticeable changes in client’s condition and notify the Agency immediately

7.     Accompany client to appointments, on errands and shopping appointments

8.     Document client care as required by the Agency

9.     Document and submit all required forms on a weekly basis or as needed.

10.   Participate as appropriate in in-service and education program of the Agency at least once a year and as needed.

11.  Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures including, but not limited to the Compliance program: Code of conduct, HIPAA and Documentation Standards.

12.  Responsible for working a scheduled shift, and if unable to, must contact Agency within a timely manner.

13.  Immediately report any suspicion or allegation of Abuse, Neglect, and/or Exploitation of any client to the Administrator or Alternate.
