Billing Supervisor

The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the billing department. Must be able to work cooperatively with managers of other departments on onsite and remote staff efficiently and effectively. 

Salus Billing provides Medical Billing services exclusively to members of IPA NY, one of the fastest growing and largest multi-specialty IPAs in the country with a membership of over 3,000 independent physicals. 

Duties and Responsibilities  

• Scrubbing progress notes and submitting claims electronically and via paper 
• Have a strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 guidelines with both commercial and government carriers. 
• Will verify all Quality Measures are being met during the encounter and billed accordingly on the claim for annual MIPS reporting. 
• Review patient accounts for accuracy 
• Ability to pull and post EOBs from multiple websites. 
• Will be aggressive in follow-up with carriers in the appeals process, working all denials, maximizing payments. 
• Have a strong ability to maintain productivity daily, meet deadlines and goals, and maintenance of company established trackers. 
• Be proactively identify Smart Edits, correct, and resubmit. 
• Will actively participate during weekly meetings, communicating trends and updates to all carrier regulations to the team. 
• Alert management of inconsistencies with carrier payments based on established fee schedules. 
• Be responsible for patient balance AR, contacting patients for collection. 

Qualifications  

• High School Diploma 
• Primary Care Medical Billing: 2 years (preferred) 
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of EMR systems, eClinicalWorks and Kareo preferred. 
• Certified Professional Biller, CPB (preferred) 
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills 
• Must have working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, Quality Measures, and HCC coding. 
• Must have thorough knowledge of HIPAA requirements. 
• Ability to multi-task 
• Proficient Analytical skills 
• Skilled in  Microsoft EXCEL (1 year experience preferred)
