(3) full time registered pharmacist are needed starting February 2024 for a one or two year assignment.
Pharmacist
Pharmacy services by the contractor will include: Practicing within the limits of their pharmacy job title professional qualification and within the standards of the State of New Mexico. In providing these services, the Contractor shall assume and provide guidance and quality of treatment to patients under the terms of this contract, as is provided to the general public.
The work to be performed includes, but not limited to the following:
1. Screen patient charts to ensure medication orders are aligned with the chart note as well as lab work, vitals, allergies, etc.
2. Process new medication orders.
3. Fill prescription orders when needed.
4. Check filled prescription orders for accuracy.
5. Educate patients on medication therapy.
6. Provide patient education.
7. Work in a collaborative fashion with the pharmacy team and providers to ensure timely and accurate pharmaceutical services.
8. Answer provider questions regarding drug therapy and question providers when appropriate to ensure the proper medication, in the proper dose and dosage form is dispensed to the patient.
9. Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate and maintain resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate to the situation.
10. Recognize adverse reactions to medications, treatments, and procedures and initiate interventions as appropriate to the situation.
11. Answer and screen telephone calls, take refill requests, and input outside prescriptions into the system.
Also, perform curbside delivery of medications, inventory management, will help with putting the
medication order to shelves, return medications to stock, and check stocked medications for outdates.
Shall work independently to open and close pharmacy, when needed.
Shall refill ScriptPro and Pyxis machines to assist pharmacy technicians, when required.
Shall be able to work with multicultural patients.
Shall have the ability to work with interpreters for patients who may have limited
understanding of the English language and who may speak only their native language. Also, be sensitive to their
cultural indigenous religions and beliefs.
Work Schedule: Will be from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Requirements
Requirements:
a. Years of Experience: minimum of (2) years of experience as a Pharmacist
b. Minimum Education: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an Accredited Pharmacy School Program
c. Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
d. Applicants must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a Pharmacist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
