What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Prairie Moon Waldorf School?
The Administrative Assistant manages and implements aspects of recruitment, enrollment, social media, and other administrative duties. The candidate has good communication skills, a background in sales and marketing and is comfortable representing the school and the tenets of Waldorf education.
The Administrative Assistant will work independently and with the Administrative Director, board, and faculty.
Supervision and Reporting: The Administrative Assistant is supervised by the Administrative Director and will work closely with the faculty as well as the board, especially the Outreach Committee. The Administrative Assistant will also prepare a report to the board prior to each board meeting. The position will be evaluated quarterly with guidance provided as needed. The assistant is expected to keep regular office hours at the school and will attend all festivals and open houses.
Specific Duties:
Winter Light Faire and Spring Fest are our largest events to bring in new families and this position is responsible for attending all planning meetings and contributing to the festivals.
Collaborate with Enrollment Coordinator to respond to enrollment inquiries within 24 hours
Collaborate with Enrollment Coordinator to schedule and provide tours as well as follow up with families after tours to answer any questions and provide further information on Waldorf education
Create and distribute a weekly newsletter
Manage Social media accounts and appropriate active presence including prior and during all festivals
Promote and publicize all public events including open houses and festivals with the following but not limited to: Lawrence Kids Calendar, local newspapers
Maintain a beautiful and informative website with up-to-date event information
Manage database entry (BigSIS) and information for inquiries, applications, and accepted students.
Present to the board enrollment goals and recruitment campaigns
Work with faculty and mentors at other Waldorf schools to collaborate on enrollment best practices
Other duties as needed.
Hours: To be determined with regular office hours
Hours/Week: Minimum 10 hours per full week.
Range: $15/hour base. Commensurate with experience, training, and qualifications
Must be able to pass a KBI check, meaning that the candidate has not been convicted of a felony or of any crime against persons.
