Prasada In Home is looking for Direct Support Professionals for Community Based Services for Adults and Children

PRASADA In Home offers therapeutic counseling, coaching and health care services in the homes and communities of Northern New Jersey families, the ideal environment to promote healing, growth and support for emotional well-being. DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prasada In Home is in immediate need of Direct Support Professionals to provide Adult and Chilren's Respite and Community Based Supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their home or primary community. We are looking for providers throughout Northern New Jersey. Free training and certification to become a Direct Support Professional is provided through the College of Direct Support. This job is a great opportunity for those pursuing careers in social work, counseling, special education or behavior analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide supervision and activity for adult or child in their home or community between 10 - 29 hours a week.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Bring individual into the community.
• Complete individual and respite plans with family to determine needs and goals of services.
• Use of Electronic Visit Verifcation apps.
• Complete detailed timesheets.
• Complete progress notes for each visit.
• Day, afternoon, evening, and weekends availability

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least one year experience working with children or adults with special needs or autism
• Need reliable transportation
• Experience caring for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Excellent Verbal and Communication Skills
• Bi-lingual a plus.

LOCATION: This is an home based position, however you will be working with the family in their home, and be required to meet periodically with the Prasada In Home interdisciplinary team for meetings. Prasada In Home serves the Northern New Jersey area.
