The Motorsports Technology Group supports the Pratt Miller Motorsports Programs with cutting-edge tools and capabilities to maximize success on the racetrack.
OVERVIEW:
The Simulation Support Engineer will work closely with the Simulation Technical Specialist to develop a simulation testing package that ensures the robustness of the Pratt Miller simulation models and experiments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SKILLS:
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Interact with Simulation Technical Specialists to develop requirements for a simulation testing package
- Prototype and develop a simulation testing tool to meet the defined requirements
- Gather required data to populate and validate the testing tool
- Complete validation efforts for the new tools and capabilities
- Provide any high-level documentation required for the new tools and capabilitie
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Required Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Vehicle dynamics background
- Vehicle simulation background
- Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python
- Willingness to independently learn and embrace new concepts
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills for communicating with other Pratt & Miller Engineering team members and customers
- Attention to detail
- Drive for quality
- Strong work ethic
Preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Technology savvy
- Experience with vehicle analysis methods
- Experience with multi-body simulation tools
- Vehicle development experience using full-vehicle simulation, high-performance vehicle development a plus
- Experience with applied simulation analysis
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Long hours may be required
- Stress may occur periodically
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Minimum of 40 hrs/week, 8 hrs/day
