Digital Technology is looking for a motivated Associate Director for Engineering Applications.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team working software development efforts for Engineering
- Deliver on software development milestones and program plans, leading the team of software engineers working on deploying new features, enhancements, and fixes
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to build roadmaps for these applications
- Ensure the technical environment including all infrastructure operating systems, application and system software is maintained to current versions
- Coordinate all changes in the technical environment with the engineering and DT teams to ensure system availability, reliability, performance, and consistency
- Participate on DT Architecture Boards to provide technical expertise and maintain project continuity and communicate deployment plans, eventually transitioning this responsibility to a team member
- Represent the current and future environment needs of engineering/infrastructure/technical teams and assess impacts of all changes to the technical environment
- Make recommendations on software versions, patches and configurations requirements, and industry standards
- Develop strategies to implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery capabilities
- Develop strategies to implement industry standards for software version control, compilation, and release procedures, cloud enablement, developing and maintaining scripts as needed
- Develop a set of measurements to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Dedicatedly monitor the technical environment to ensure system availability, reliability, and performance
- Consult and support on other Engineering Application development efforts as needed
- Coach and mentor the team, lead through encouragement and support
Experience/Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience with digital, application development, solution architecture including architecture design, application integration, product road mapping, delivery, and support
- Experience with infrastructure industry standards and trends on multiple platforms including Windows, Linux/UNIX, Cloud platforms (Azure)
- Possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, develop clear, concise, and logically written business communications, deliver recommendations effectively
- Experience with Software Development practices and frameworks
- Experience with Software Product Lifecycle practices for managing software, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Demonstrated effectiveness working in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to build strong relationships to leverage information and insights across key groups
- Strong personal leadership, organizational, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Outstanding formal and informal presentation skills
- Ability to inspire confidence in senior management and to be recognized as the authority by many stakeholders
- Self-starter with self-confidence, enthusiasm, and strong customer service orientation
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelors degree with 12 years experience or Advanced degree with 10 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, Preferred CS, Engineering, MIS or related
- Ability to travel internationally if required
- Skilled at analyzing business process and seeing opportunities for digital solutions
- Experience in supplier management, Project Management, SDLC, Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Good communication skills, work ethic and a high level of personal integrity and accountability
- Willingness to learn new technologies & take on new projects to grow experience
- Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a solid ability to drive and deliver results
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, examples of effective teamwork, a track record of consistently meeting deadlines and due dates
- Comfortable working with minimal daily supervision and balance numerous priorities
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, in a fast-paced environment of rapidly changing demands
- Experience designing and implementing automated solutions
