Our Pratt & Whitney North Berwick facility has an exciting leadership role as a Materials Manager. In this role, you will report directly to the Business Unit Manager and in their absence, you will act as the Deputy Manager with oversight for all Business Unit related functions. In this role you will provide direction to, and ensure the overall success of, Manufacturing Cell Leaders and Quality Assurance Leaders on the prioritization of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Shop Floor personnel in execution of Business Unit plan
- Provide direction to Manufacturing Cell Leaders and Quality Assurance Leaders on prioritization of materials
- Create Engine Build and Military spares commitments and ensure information is accurate and up to date
- Work with materials organization on Vendor Assist and Temporary Vendor Assist scheduling and prioritization of critical BU commitments
- Provide leadership and guidance to manage all accruals, WIP, QN and PPX aging
- Support lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity
- Support and participate in the execution of the lean logistic transformation plan
- Provide leadership and guidance to a multi-skilled team engaged in the distribution of material to and from manufacturing cells and module assembly
- Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained in all warehouses
- Execute business decisions in a fair and equitable manner, conduct annual performance reviews, hold regular toolbox meetings, provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives
- Support all Company obligations as they relate to Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, contracting with the United States Government and Administration of FAA policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline with 8 years of direct materials or related experience; OR
- MA/MS degree with 5 years of experience; OR
- High School or General Equivalency Diploma with 12 years of experience
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Requires availability on all shifts and weekends
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Operations Management experience desired
- Strong SAP, Excel, and MS Office computer skills
- Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation and coaching skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Analytical, problem solving & mathematic skills
- Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures
- Demonstrated flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments
- Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize
- Working knowledge of new product / process technologies
