Location Profile:
Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements, including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under supervision, perform testing, and basic assembly using formal and informal blueprints.
- Assist in fabricating prototype components and assemblies. Must be capable of learning CNC Lathe, conventional Mill, and Engine Lathe operation.
- Must be willing to learn CAD software and operate any new type of machinery as needed. Generate test reports and procedures.
- Aid and assist in product re-work, evaluation, and sorting processes.
- Level one responsibilities apply to level two, with the following additional duties:
- Perform basic setup operations, including fixtures, cutting tools, and CNC programs.
- Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets as needed.
- Perform inspection tasks of intermediate complexity interacting with drawings and more advanced inspection tools.
- Meets production demands.
- Run production on multiple machines at once. (Primary & Secondary)
Required Skills:
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
- Able to learn and use hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- The ability to identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine data on manufacturing routers and SPC charts.
Mathematical Skills:
Applicant must demonstrate the use of technical math to solve standard manufacturing problems and basic calculations.
Required Experience:
- A working knowledge of G and M codes applied in setting and adjusting offsets and interacting with CNC programs.
- A working knowledge of shop math, including tool geometry, positive and negative numbers, and basic geometry.
- The ability to read basic prints and apply basic dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
