Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gage calibration with periodic layouts; perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
Coordinate all other repairs of gages and fixtures with tool shops.
Update and maintain electronic system for all calibrated gages, fixtures, and tools.
Manage daily release of gages to production floor.
Perform new gage layouts, correlations, GR&R studies, and releases.
Control documents and records of all gage activities (i.e., layout, repairs, correlations, etc.)
Must be able to communicate professionally with all customers, vendors, co-workers, and supervisors.
Coordinate with local outside venders for calibration of gages and tools. May require occasional travel to and from facilities.
Be aware of constraints with production and assist when necessary.
Train new Gage Control Techs as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with PCC safety rules.
Coordinate with process and product engineering on gage projects.
Assist other PCC facilities with gage related issues and transfers.
Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

High School graduate or GED required.
Must have a good math understanding and background.
Must be familiar with standard quality inspection instruments and gages.
Able to read and understand blueprints.
5 or more years of experience in plate layouts highly preferred.
Experience with CMM and Bluelight also preferred.
Must understand layout techniques, operations, and instruments.
Must have knowledge of calibration software (GAGEtrak is preferred).
Ability to work independently.
Should be mechanically inclined.
Ability to work overtime as needed to support manufacturing needs.

Ability to lift 35 lbs. at a maximum and the ability to push or pull objects weighing up to 90 lbs.
