Job Description
Primary overarching project will be related to development project based around microstructure and microscopy. Additional support for metallurgy group may include met lab metallography (mounting presses, cutting saws, polishing equipment, microscopy, image analysis), microhardness and nanoindentation, work order creation and tracking, 6S initiatives, and SOP review/editing. Report generation for work completed and as required during assignment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Check computer hardware to ensure functionality- Monitor and maintain availability of computer hardware on site
- Installs personal computers, software, and peripheral equipment
- Assist with network and server support as needed
- Strives to promptly resolve technical support issues and address user questions and requests at the instruction of the IT Service Desk
- Troubleshoot to diagnose and resolve errors
Education & Experience
Enrolled in a 4-year Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology program- Must be able to commit to 6 months or the duration of the summer
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate
- Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds if needed
- Must be able to think quickly and take action
Required Skills
- Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and Access)
- Strong writing skills and interpersonal skills
- Critical problem analysis, decision making and analytical abilities
- Ability to adapt and thrive in an environment where business and team needs may change
