What is the purpose of this Job?

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial stability and ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a proven financial management and reporting track record.

Job Responsibilities - 

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Team Leadership:

• Help set team goals and monitor progress.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

 Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Participate in the development of the annual budget, working closely with department heads.
• Monitor budget performance and prepare forecasts to ensure financial goals are met.
• Identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
  

 Financial Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
• Participate in the preparation of tax returns and support the external audit process.
• Implement and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  

 Month -End and Year-End Closing:

• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.  Daily reconciliation of cash.
• Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary data for accurate financial reporting.
  

 Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial operations and implement best practices.
• Streamline financial reporting and accounting procedures for efficiency.
  

Requirements -

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in understanding and managing 1099 filing requirements.
• Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to effectively use spreadsheet functions using Pivot Tables and V-lookup functions as well as various tools for financial analysis.
• Ability to audit, review, and analyze financial statements, identifying areas for improvement and maintaining data accuracy.
  

Work Schedule- Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

** Our company's pay period is Sunday through Saturday, with WEEKLY payroll! That means payday is EVERY Friday!  **
