POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Scheduler is to maintain the shop schedule and perform various other related activities. Ensure proper flow of work in order to meet 100% on-time shipments and 100% of sales daily.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):

- Update and maintain the shop schedule. Identify bottlenecks and work with Operations Manager and Sales to resolve.
- Check inventory for available components or finished parts.
- Update work center scheduling capacity as and maintain plant production calendar.
- Stage jobs in advance of planned release for production to ensure resources are available
- Reduce or eliminate wait time in all non-machining work centers to meet on-time deliveries and sales goals.
- Meet or exceed on-time delivery and sales goals while supporting all quality guidelines and goals.
- Remain up to date on job status and or assemblies expedite as necessary to meet required by dates (one week in advance of the due date to customer).
- Create and release Job Travelers and Job Packets.
- Can read and understand shop traveler, and identify any special process or work instruction specified.
- Perform other tasks including timekeeping and updating permanent methods as directed.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Critical judgment skills
- A high level of initiative
- Experienced using computers.
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment including processing shipments and creating shop work orders.
- Demonstrate understanding of shop travelers and sequencing.
NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Minimum of 3 years of ERP management experience in a manufacturing environment.
