Position Overview: Plans, coordinates, and delivers a quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the productions and products consistent with established standards
Essential Job Functions
- Create, monitor and maintain the highest standard product quality system throughout the organization. Investigate, measure, monitor, and take the lead in corrective actions, and maintain effective improvements to the overall quality system.
- Maintain the quality control department to ensure the highest standards of quality control throughout the organization.
- Work to improve product quality and communications with existing vendors.
- Lead in the creation of all product quality planning. Create FEMAs, control plans, training requirements, gap analysis, process capability analysis.
- Investigate and initiate new inspection technologies and methods.
- Create, maintain, file and distribute all quality control procedures, records and documents.
- Establish, implement, and manage an effective training program for quality control personnel in all aspects of the manufacturing of products. Participate in external training courses as necessary to ensure duties performed are in accordance with the most recent industry standards.
- Investigate complaints and problems and formulate corrective actions through customer visits as required or requested.
- Work the with engineering department on design reviews and evaluations of new products
- Perform internal audits (formal and informal) as required
Other Job Functions
- Ensure the quality control department is operating in full compliance with all applicable ISO standards and procedures
- Ensure effective communication with senior management. Report to senior management regarding quality issues, problems and improvements
- Complete other duties as assigned by Manager
- Directly supervises employees in the quality department
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Must be hands on. This is not a position of delegation. There is a direct report, but work is done shoulder to shoulder as work needs to be completed.

Skills/Qualifications
- Four year college Engineering, Engineering Technology or Technical Degree- or demonstrated experience in alignment with these degrees.
- Management experience/operational exposure with floor manufacturing facilities, including functional design layout, routine operations, productivity, personnel manning, management and training controls, supplies/materials planning and handling, inventory system and controls, shipping and receiving, OSHA safety standards- preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership attitude
- Computer literate in basic application software systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
