Electromagnetic Pulse Engineer
Location: King George, VA
Clearance: Top Secret
"Key Role:
Develops test assets, test methodologies, and approaches, and test plans. Integrates instrumentation for use in new test approaches. Applies specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge. May develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance. May review or guide activities of more junior employees.
Basic Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Naval Architecture
- 7 years of experience in Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP), Electronic Environmental Effects (E3), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), E3 Computation and Modeling, and EMP Naval Ordnance
- Ability to develop and validate Electromagnetic (EM) survivability requirements for electrical and electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures
- Ability to collect test data, conduct detailed analysis, complete desktop, and on-site assessments of shipboard status, provide a risk to mission analysis and dependency analysis, develop technical and operational conclusions, and write technical reports that meet sponsor requirements
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or 15 years of experience in Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP), Phase Contrast Imaging (PCI), and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in lieu of degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with testing at a variety of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Vulnerability (EMV), and Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) test facilities including Mode Stirred chamber, Horizontally Polarized, Vertically Polarized, and Bounded Wave simulators
- Experience with Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) engineering, research, and test and evaluation
- Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) acquisition engineering, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) analysis, and EMI planned maintenance systems

- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required."
