Machine Operator Job Description

Job Summary: The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include robotic welder, CNC and bend machines.
• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintain logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper set up and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area.
• Assist the Machine Technicians and materials clerk as necessary
• Follow established safety rules and regulations
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Machine Operator Skills:

• Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting
• Ability to accurately read blue prints
• Able to lift a maximum of 35 pounds and stand for an eight-hour work shift
• Available to work overtime (including weekends)
• Committed to quality, safety and communication
• Team-oriented and self-directed

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year experience with CNC, Bend Machine or Robotic Welder

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
• Ability to hold/grip, twist hand, apply pressure
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
