Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting and Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting functions, including general accounting, cost accounting, and reconciliation of financial accounts. Additionally, this role will oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting, cost accounting, and related duties for the organization.
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
• Manage the reconciliation of inventory accounts.
• Oversee accounts receivable collections and follow up with past due customers.
• Process invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are accurately charged.
• Manage cash disbursements and fixed assets reporting.
• Assist in the monthly closing process and support the Billing Administrator as needed.
• Provide outside auditors with necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
• Maintain and update data in ERP software.
• Stay updated on acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure accuracy.
• Process payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Issue and manage customer credits.
• Support the annual budget process.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
