JOB DESCRIPTION
Premier Aquatics is currently hiring lifeguards! We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, responsible, and have a passion for water safety! SUMMARY
In this role, you will ensure the safety of visitors at our aquatic facility. You will be supervised by Head Guards and Lifeguard Managers. As a lifeguard, you will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce the pool rules for the facility. You will also be responsible for opening and closing procedures as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Advises swimmers of improper activities or dangers and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Responds to emergency situations and administers first-aid when necessary.
- Ability to work independently.
- Maintain focus at a high level for extended periods of time.
- Evaluates conditions for safety and activates emergency action plan if necessary.
- Complete daily opening/closing procedure checklists.
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
- Assists with pool chemical tests and records results accordingly.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and management.
- Completes other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Must be at least 15 years of age and be able to obtain a work permit if under the age of 18.
- Be able to work a minimum of 1 day a week and/or have one day of weekend availability.
- Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
- Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to interact with the public.
- Reliable transportation.
- Be able to obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- Swimming proficiency and feels comfortable in the water.
Preferred
- Have prior lifeguard experience.
- Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- Be able to work a minimum of 2 days a week and have one day of weekend availability.
