Premier Fabrication is seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys a "good" challenge to manage our Finance & Accounting team. The Controller will work under the direction of the President/CEO to prepare, record, analyze, and maintain financial information for company management and shareholders. This involves maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying GAAP through analytical work and thorough review of financial records.
Premier Fabrication is a privately owned, steel fabrication and manufacturing solutions provider with a workforce of approximately 80+. Operations are located in Congerville, Illinois, mid-way between Peoria and Bloomington.

We provide steel products and services ranging from structural steel for commercial and industrial clients to general fabrication parts and assemblies for agriculture, energy, construction, and industrial clients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee weekly cash management, approve payables and wire transfers.
- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting internal control procedures.
- Prepare budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
- Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases, computer software systems, and manual or electronic filing systems related to department.
- Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Establishe relations with banks and other financial institutions.
- Supervise and train employees in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Serve as key point of contact for external auditor.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation, and create financial reports.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in fast paced and dynamic work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel; experience with accounting/ERP software preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to maintain accurate records of confidential data.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with other teams within the organization to reach a common goal.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred, but not required
- 6 years minimum experience in finance/accounting role in the manufacturing industry
- Previous experience with Visual Manufacturing and Crystal Reports a plus, but not required
Physical Demands
Must be able to frequently stand, walk (including frequent use of stairs), sit, and use hands and arms to reach. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
