Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards of practice.
- Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures that align with hospital goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, including the management of inventory, procurement, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to develop and maintain effective medication management processes, including formulary management and clinical protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of pharmacy services, implementing quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Manage the departments budget, including cost control, revenue generation, and resource allocation.
- Participate in hospital committees and contribute to the overall strategic planning and decision-making process.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practice, including licensing, record-keeping, and reporting requirements.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Idaho.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience, with at least three (3) years in a director-level or similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, including medication safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical pharmacy services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health record systems.
- Advanced certifications in pharmacy practice or administration (e.g., Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy, Masters Degree in Pharmacy Administration).
- Experience with budget management and financial analysis in a healthcare setting.
