ATHLETIC TRAINER
- PRN (Support)
The Athletic Trainer Support (AT) assumes a collaborative role on the interdisciplinary sports medicine team and must be flexible to travel to cover needs at multiple locations. This individual will provide on-site athletic training coverage at designated schools and community events as directed. The AT will provide prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, re-conditioning, organization and administration under the direction of a physician.
The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for documentation per Premier Health standards, professional practice activities, public speaking, and cost management. This individual is professionally responsible for demonstrating excellent customer service and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the sports medicine team.

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Additional requirements:
- Type of degree: Bachelor of Science or equivalent
- Area of study or major: Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or equivalent
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current Athletic Training license in State of Ohio.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
Preferred experience: 1-3 years of job-related experience.

Essential Duties & Functions:
- Properly assess, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries under the direction of a physician and standard operating procedures.
- Provide exemplary customer service to all customers, family members, and other visitors.
- Treat customers, family members, healthcare providers, and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
- Completes all documentation at the designated schools and the department per Premier Health standards.
- Schedule and practice emergency action plan at designated schools seasonally.
- Provides customer/family education.
- Engages in interdisciplinary, collaborative communication with sports medicine team.
- Provides oversight of high school student aides.
- Participates in programs/service performance improvement activities.
- Responsible for his/her own professional development and passes all required hospital/department competencies and related testing; applies to everyday performance.
