Premier Mid America (PMA) is a newly built pharmaceutical and medical distribution center, based in Bowling Green, Ohio. Our mission is to deliver top quality service to independent health care organizations at the best cost.
Our organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist to assist with purchasing and vendor management. In this role, you will focus on managing the best suppliers for the business strategy to support our needs. When we order materials from a vendor, you will issue a detailed purchase order outlining the price of the materials and the delivery timeline set in the contract. You will also conduct cost-benefit analyses to determine where we can improve, re-negotiating contracts with existing suppliers or negotiating contracts with new suppliers. This role is essential to the efficiency and success of our organization. You will also be the point of contact for all internal purchasing updates and facilitate the communications of vendor updates to all departments within Premier. A basic understanding of finance procedures will also be necessary to be in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Vendor relationship facilitation and communication
- Contract pricing negotiations with manufacturers and suppliers
- Manage and update Reorder Points and Preferred Stock Levels based on usage changes in our customer base
- Daily order placing and bill creation
- Inventory managementFamiliar with FIFO, reorder points, and keeping lean inventory
- Monitor market trends for medication pricing to ensure our contracted pricing remains competitive
- Coordinate with centralized Procurement team at company head office

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, procurement, supply chain management, or similar field
- Purchasing experience in the pharmaceutical/medical industry preferred
- Knowledge of Netsuite business management software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience as a certified pharmacy technician and/or pharmacy buyer desired
- In-depth business management, supply chain, and strategic sourcing knowledge
- Advanced analytical skills
