JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Chief Information Officer
REPORTS TO: CEO/COO
EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately
SUMMARY: Provides progressive and focused information technology vision and leadership to the company; understands core business requirements and researches potential new technologies that will address these requirements to increase quality of service and decrease cost of delivery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, manages, evaluates, administers, and coordinates the company’s strategic and tactical information technology plans to support long-term business needs.
- Updates and, where necessary, modifies IT policies, protocols, and standard including but not limited to security, asset management, information technology infrastructure, and network operations.
- Oversees contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Researches, vets, and proposes hardware, software, and service solutions and communicates with other executives regarding costs, value and risk-potential. Develops and implements effective solutions that are both technically appropriate and pragmatic.
- Along with the CFO, develops, implements, and monitors department budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops information technology staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent
• Four to six years related experience or equivalent
- MSP experience preferred
• Knowledge of advanced principles of information technology architecture,
strategic information technology planning, and effective IT security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
• Ability to work with all levels of management
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
