Premier Project Management provides design, procurement, engineering development and project management services to hotels. This includes implementing the majority of capital improvements for properties owned by Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) and Braemar Hotels and Resorts (NYSE: BHR), and other hotel ownership groups.

As a Project Architect/Project Coordinator, you should be competent in most conventional aspects of architecture and have experience with authorities having jurisdiction, interior architectural documentation, detailing and constructability. You will be held accountable for deadlines, budgets, and work in a collaborative, yet self-reliant manner; while still keeping senior management abreast of decisions and status of the project.

The individual in this position will have the opportunity to work with multiple hotel brands including both limited service and full service hotels for a wide variety of brands as well as multi-family and student housing projects. As a member of the Architectural team, you should meet the requirements as outlined below.

Essential Functions:

  • Thorough understanding of AutoCAD. Responsible for the actual drafting of the project.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of construction documentation standards. Collaborate and coordinate with team members, MEP, Structural, Civil and other consultants to prepare integrated working drawings for bidding, permit, and construction.
  • Work collaboratively with the Interior Designers during Project Planning & Design to develop interior architecture to shape the space, i.e., space plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and millwork details.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Project Management to deliver projects that meet contractual requirements, budget, and coordination.
  • Demonstrate ability in Project Development & Documentation: Ability to review and coordinate work with all authorities having jurisdiction; Perform and review a site survey of existing conditions; Display ADA understanding as applied to site plans, floor plans, restrooms, details, etc.; Exhibit Building Code familiarity as applied to life safety plans, floor plans, etc.
  • Demonstrate core organizational skills including: Time management to provide deliverables on portions of, or entire projects, in different phases of design; Self-review of work to reduce graphic and analytical errors; as well as limited review of the work of others for coordination and completeness; Effective professional communication in drawing, verbal, and written formats; Contribute to Practice Management by participating in and leading, when required, various project meetings; such as in-house design team, consultant coordination, and pre-construction meetings; including preparation of meeting materials and meeting minutes/documentation.
Requirements:
  • Architectural degree from an accredited college or university, eligible for licensing.
  • 5-10 years’ experience producing construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Auto Cad, MS Word, Excel.
  • Develop knowledge of Spitfire; understanding how to find funds through cost savings on other projects, involvement with others in the department throughout the budget, design and construction process
