Position Summary
The Assistant Environmental Director is responsible for ensuring that the community is safe, attractive and well maintained and assisting the Environmental Director in any manner requested. This individual provides excellent customer service and quality maintenance functions to residents and community in accordance with all laws, regulations and Company standards are met.
Essential Functions
- Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs and replacements throughout the community, including in resident apartments, common areas, kitchen, dining room, storage areas.
- Assist with preventive maintenance record keeping per State and Local codes of Law.
- Ensure 24-hour repair/response time for all daily maintenance requests work orders.
- Maintain facility grounds neat, safe and in good repair at all time. (Winter months keep sidewalks, parking lot, emergency exits free of snow and Ice).
- Inspect equipment /systems regularly for proper functioning and safely and make repairs as necessary.
- Runs errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, lift and move heavy furniture and equipment.
- Assist with completion of monthly Quality Assurance Audits monthly.
- Maintain a clean and safe community vehicle.
- Knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines governing maintenance functions in Assisted Living Communities.
- Order supplies and equipment with in budgetary guidelines and under the direction of the Environmental Services Director.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Preferred
- Practical knowledge of day-to-day maintenance and facility physical plant upkeep.
- Experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing preferred.
- Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license as some driving will be necessary.
- Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation.
- Meet all health requirements including TB including all required immunizations.
- Pass background check and random drug tests.
- Able to lift a minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 50 pounds, periodically and/as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Exert 20-50 # of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 # of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 # of force constantly.
