Job Description:
A Produce Clerk is responsible for assisting customers with purchases in the produce department, along with stocking and rotating produce products. Duties may include assisting customers, stocking and rotating products, receiving, and preparing custom orders, cutting, wrapping, and labeling produce, and checking product quality.
Primary Duties:
- Provide friendly, prompt, and efficient customer service always.
- Stock cases and rotate product.
- Work with a team to ensure a pleasant work environment, and customer satisfaction.
- Cut, wrap, and weigh varieties of produce – while operating tools safely.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and complete required cleaning to ensure work areas and displays are kept neat and clean.
- Adhere to company policies and guidelines.
- Report to work when scheduled and on time.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience is preferred, but not required. We will train the right person!
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, lift up to 20 pounds frequently, and lift up to 10 pounds constantly to move product.
- Must be able to carefully operate equipment necessary to perform job – including but not limited to; pallet jack, wrapping system, knives, etc.
Environment:
This is a fast-paced work environment. This position is continually exposed to a cool and damp environment, and there is frequent noise from the saws.
