About the Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our AI team. As the Data Scientist Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing our data science initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven decision making and innovation. You will play a key role in developing and implementing advanced analytical models and algorithms to extract insights from complex datasets and drive business growth and optimisation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of statistical modelling, data mining and machine learning techniques, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Reporting: You will report to a Technical Lead within Prescient’s India office.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, implementing and unit testing complex web applications
• Integrating user-facing elements developed by UI developers
• Building efficient, testable and reusable PHP modules
• Integrating data storage solutions, including RDBMS, NoSQL and cache systems
• Working with application development leads to establish, maintain and ensure compliance with standards for development, testing and documentation
• Participating in requirement gathering and functional specification activities
• Resolving and helping mitigate production application issues

Required Experience and Skills

• BE/BTech in computer engineering, computer science or an equivalent technical degree with 2-6 months of experience
• Knowledge of PHP web frameworks, such as CakePHP, Laravel and Yii
• Understanding of the fully synchronous behaviour of PHP and MVC design patterns
• Expertise in frontend technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
• Knowledge of common web server exploits and their solutions
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorisation between multiple systems, servers and environments
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
