Purchasing Assistant Responsbilities Include:

  • The purchasing assistant is responsible for assisting and helping expedite the process to receive timely supplies and services.
  • The central duties include reviewing order requests, submitting purchase orders, identifying backorders/discontinued items, quote with suppliers, reviewing the company’s purchasing agreements
  • Ensuring materials and services meet the company’s standards and budget requirements.
  • Making sure items are added to the correct subcategory.
  • Items should be added/placed to the correct order guide.
  • Managing purchase orders and confirmations.
  • Follow up on vendor email confirmations for rejected/discontinued or backorder items.
  • Making sure departments stay within budgets.

·Qualifications for Purchasing Specialist

  • Purchasing Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Prior experience in procurement desired.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
  • Pleasant attitude.
