PURPOSE OF POSITION
The cost analyst is responsible for analyzing current costs, contributing to process improvements and preparing cost estimate documentation under the direction of the Controller with input from Engineering Manager. This position works with clients, engineers, subcontractors/suppliers, and buyer to plan cost factors for production of fabricated and stamped parts. Analyzes manufacturing documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Analyze costs associated with manufacturing processes.
Assist in developing standard costs for budgeting based on analysis performed throughout year.
Prepare and present reports with analysis findings.
Assist in process improvements based on analysis.
Estimate cost of new products, services and/or projects utilizing cost findings.
Collect historical cost data to compile finished goods pricing for current or future products.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or manager to discuss and formulate costing and resolve issues.
Maintain quote log related to ongoing/open quote opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Knowledge of rubber and plastic manufacturing practices
Time management.
Logical analytical ability and data analysis.
Mechanical aptitude.
Good decision making skills to have proper judgment and effective, independent decision making; to make sound decisions that is in the best interest of the company.
Good interpersonal skills to have the ability to interact with leadership, customers, vendors, and associates in a reliable, competent, and professional manner.
Creative and innovative thinking.
Desire to continuously learn and improve.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BS or BA preferred, but not required.
3 year minimum, 5 years preferred in manufacturing background.
Exposure to bill of material and router setup preferred but not mandatory.
Exposure to internal and external customer relationships preferred but not mandatory.
Exposure to working in a team environment.
Rubber / Plastic processing or manufacturing background.
