Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Perform and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examination and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the physician or provider.
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory tests, including blood draws and urine tests.
- Perform basic wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and bandaging wounds.
- Utilize and maintain medical equipment and ensure sterilization protocols are followed.
Administrative Duties:
- Greet patients, check them in, and verify insurance information.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments and follow-up visits.
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Handle patient inquiries, including phone calls and in-person questions, with professionalism and empathy.
- Process billing and insurance claims, and assist patients with payment arrangements.
- Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Previous experience in an urgent care or clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems and other medical office software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care protocols.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with EKGs, splinting, administering injections, phlebotomy, casting, and vitals testing
