Summary

The Safety Coordinator monitors operations to eliminate hazardous activities and provides guidance in the administration and implementation of safety program; coordinates safety activities with the Human Resources Department; provides administrative and technical advice to supervisors and employees to ensure safety control mechanisms. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State safety laws and regulations and safety procedures and processes. Role and Responsibilities

· Conduct daily walkthroughs to confirm plant is suitable for daily operations while also ensuring efficiency in the processes

· Assist with developing and implementing programs such as, but not limited to, hearing conservation, chemical inventory/control, hazardous communications. Schedules and provides or arranges for required annual audiometric testing.

· Conducts and supports safety meetings. Plans develops and delivers or arranges delivery of safety-related trainings to multiple plants/warehouses.

· Assist with Paycom Osha trainings.

· Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations by understanding existing laws and rules, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence and advising management on needed actions.

· Provides safety support to employees, supervisors and managers on matters regarding workers compensation, fitness for duty determination.

· Track, analysis incidents and accidents.

· Conduct accident investigations and work with supervisors and employees to develop plans to prevent similar accidents. Implement plan and monitor the results of the plan.

· Conduct regular safety inspections to identify workplace hazards and implement hazard controls before accidents occur. Also, determine whether any employees are using unsafe safety practices and may need more training.

· Provide assistance and/or direction to other warehouse/plants as needed.

· Train employee on warehouse equipment (i.e. Forklifts, pallet jacks, lifts, etc.) to drop and move freight throughout warehouse, while maintaining all safety and company procedures

· Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment, including forklift trucks, conveyor equipment, and specific portions of tractor-trailer and over-the-road trucks

· Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives

· Maintains detailed and accurate work records

· Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas

· Orders new equipment as requested by management

· Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· OSHA Certification to operate a Forklift

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Problems-solving skills

· Critical thinking skills

· Leadership and coaching skills

· Strong empathy and interpersonal skills

· Detailed-oriented with excellent organization skills

· Communicate with supervisors in various departments

· Daily discipline and the ability to prioritize, which allows the individual to dominate their daily checklist

· Professionalism, accountability, accuracy, and integrity

· Ability to work and cooperatively with others

· Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted

· Ability to enter and maneuver in confined spaces

· Willingness to comply with company guidelines

· Willingness to work to complete such tasks associated with the company on a daily schedule

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
