The SD-WAN Network Technician is responsible for leading migration of individual sites from MPLS to SD-WAN. Monitoring network performance and troubleshoot problems as they arise, including addressing any security concerns. Another common requirement is to perform research to ensure the network products, services, protocols, and standards remain at the forefront of any networking industry developments.
Qualifications
- WAN Technologies: MPLS, MetroE, Leased Lines, Broadband
- Tunneling protocols such as SSL/TLS, IPSec, GRE, DMVPN
- Authentication methodologies, including 2FA, RADIUS, LDAP, AD
- IP Routing: BGP, OSPF, Static, Network Address Translation
- Virtualization technologies: ESX, KVM, Xen, Microsoft
- Network Security capabilities: IPS/IDS, Zone Based Firewalls
Requirements
- Five or more years’ experience in networking environment.
- Prior knowledge of SD-WAN services and equipment is preferred.
- Advanced network troubleshooting skills required.
- Knowledge of DHCP, DHCP options, DNS, NAT, VLANS and ARP required.
- Knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) is required.
- Knowledge of Physical and Data Link layer functionality required.
- Experience with VoIP integrated networks preferred.
- Knowledge of the SIP protocol preferred.
- Experience with Linux operating systems required.
