Position: Secretary
Location: Maywood, NJ
Duration: 3 months contract with extension possibilities.
Shift: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay - $24/hr
Job Duties:
At the direction of the Chair, provides organizational support to the department, handles special projects, and responds to physician needs.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Customer Service: Answers telephone and takes accurate and detailed messages. Screens calls by referring them to appropriate sources. Answers questions, which may involve the interpretation of routine policies and procedures. Resolves routine matters that do not require the intervention of the department manager. Telephone calls are answered within three rings and in a courteous manner. Accurately interprets and clearly communicates department's policies and procedures.
Inpatient Billing: Submits inpatient billing in a timely fashion.
Manages physician reimbursement: Accepts expense receipts from physicians, Completes check requisitions, Logs activity, Submits to finance.
Physician Office Practice: Meets and Greets patients, Manages paperwork, Scheduling and registering, Submits billing.
Provides clerical support: Provides clerical support as needed to other members of the DOM. Copies, filing and mail are done as per work request.
Regulatory Requirements: Responds to regulatory needs including Medicare Time Studies, Physician Time Sheets, UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Issues and Other.
Special Projects and Assignments: Handles special assignments and projects as assigned. Demonstrates creativity and independent thinking. Assignments are completed as directed, error free and within the appropriate time constraints. Consistently demonstrates the ability to work independently.
Typing and mail: Types memos, letters, reports and other related items, takes dictation and maintains files on correspondence. Opens dates and sorts mail and assembles back-up materials as required. Typing and dictation are error free and formatted appropriately and within the appropriate timeframes. Mail and correspondence is handled in a timely and appropriate manner.
Education Required:
High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED.
