Assistant Sizer Operator
POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Sizer Operator will make sure that: (1) the sizer is perfectly maintained, (2) the head sizer operator receives accurate and prompt fruit sizing information, and (3) coding changes are made promptly and accurately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare administrative requirements for the pack day by completing the necessary checklist.
- Tour the pack tables to inspect sizing.
- Uses a bucket, a scale, and a tablet, takes fruit sample weighs, and immediately document.
- Report sample weights that are not within an acceptable range.
- Verify continually that PLI stamps are printed properly.
- Record box sizes, coding, and locations.
- Assist Sizer Operator and repair sizer when necessary.
- Ensure that tables are using the specified container size.
- Make sure the check scale operator is using the correct size fruit.
- Visually inspect fruit to ensure it is packed and marked correctly.
- Inspect and calibrate scales at all fruit packing stations.
- Inspect all packing stations to ensure there are no damage or malfunctioning components.
- Verify appropriate box size is used to prevent damage to fruit.
- Follows all company guidelines regarding packing, food safety, and general policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience and other training or certification may be substituted for education.
Language
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

- Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and work primarily standing

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an industrial manufacturing environment. However, the employee is expected to travel to the different locations (within 50 miles radius distance from the primary location) to interact with employees in multiple processes (e.g., onboarding, training, etc.).
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays; this is critical to support the needs of the business and is subject to change.
