Job Description: As a Duct Work / Sheet Metal Technician at Prime One Mechanical, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC duct systems and sheet metal components. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks related to fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing ductwork and sheet metal structures to ensure optimal HVAC system performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Duct Fabrication: Fabricate ductwork according to specifications using various sheet metal fabrication tools and techniques, including shearing, bending, welding, and soldering.
  • Installation: Install ductwork and associated sheet metal components in new construction, renovation projects, and HVAC system upgrades. Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and insulation to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of existing duct systems to identify and address issues such as leaks, corrosion, or damage. Perform necessary repairs or replacements to restore functionality and efficiency.
  • Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately fabricate and install ductwork and sheet metal components according to project requirements.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, HVAC technicians, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of ductwork and sheet metal installations with overall HVAC system design and operation.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety protocols throughout all stages of ductwork and sheet metal fabrication, installation, and maintenance processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage, labor hours, and project milestones. Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely and organized manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally. Communicate effectively with clients to explain work procedures, recommend solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or apprenticeship program in sheet metal fabrication or HVAC preferred.
  • Proven experience in ductwork fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair within the HVAC industry.
  • Proficiency in using sheet metal fabrication tools and equipment, including shears, brakes, rollers, and welding machines.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, components, and industry standards (e.g., SMACNA, ASHRAE).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
