Primex Color, Compounding and Additives Corporation is a leader in the manufacture of custom compounds and color concentrates for a diverse range of industries. A subsidiary of Primex Plastics Corporation, Primex Color operates two manufacturing facilities, located in Jasper, TN and Garfield, NJ.
The position will provide sales coverage for new and existing color and compound accounts in the Northeast Territory which includes Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. We are looking for a strong seller who is capable of identifying new target accounts and closing new opportunities, while continuing to develop and maintain a solid existing account base.
Experienced sellers familiar to the color and compounding industry are strongly preferred. The position requires excellent communication skills in all levels of an organization, from the plant level up to the President. The position requires weekly and monthly reporting of customer and target activity for the territory, as well as overnight travel. The seller should be a self-starter capable of fully managing his or her territory, with profitable growth as the incentive.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
· 5 years outside sales experience, experience in color and compounding sales highly preferred
· Must live within the territory described above.
· Must have an active book of business in the established territory
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience will be accepted
- Successful record of obtaining new business
- Computer skills proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Self-starter who shows enthusiasm for selling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5-10 nights of overnight travel required per month, approximately depending on where the successful candidate resides within the territory
