This is a new position due to business growth, with a base pay plus commission.
Primitives By Kathy®, wholesaler of unique home décor and gift items, is growing quickly and we're eager to expand our Sales team with motivated individuals who have a track record of success in sales and customer service. As a member of our internal Account Management team for Independent Sales, you will be the primary contact to a select group of customers, providing "WOW" service and essential sales assistance as we work to earn their business and build lifetime relationships.
We are offering a $1000 sign-on bonus for this position after successful completion of initial 90 days of employment.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Professionally and efficiently manage approximately 250-300 established small business accounts.
- Generate sales and influence customer purchasing decisions by up-selling, cross selling, and following up on sales promotions.
- Achieve and exceed sales objectives including annual sales goals, call metrics, promotional and/or seasonal sales initiatives.
- Cultivate loyal, long-lasting relationships with your customers to retain them in our "Class Act" sales program. Contact assigned customers monthly to connect on sales opportunities, account updates and relationship building.
- Develop growth plans for customers using creative sales approaches, analysis of data metrics to identify sales opportunities, and researching customer activity through ongoing monitoring of customer websites and social media. Develop and present business strategy plans for assigned accounts.
- Process sales orders by phone, web, email, and fax.
- Respond to and resolve concerns and complaints.
- Log all transactions and customer interactions, and maintain customer database with relevant notes and customer details.
- Availability and ability to travel to trade shows, set appointments, and pre-plan sales objectives with your customers attending show. Must attend the Atlanta Market trade shows twice/year. (10-15% of job duties. More details provided in job requirements below.)
- Provide sales support to all PBK customers which may include the need to work evening hours and weekends if business needs dictate.
- Maintain updated knowledge of company products and apprised of industry trends.
- Limited remote work may be offered after successful completion of 90 day training and orientation timeline.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in sales (wholesale and/or retail), customer service, or call center environment; Associates degree in Business Administration or related discipline, preferred.
- Five plus years of previous sales experience, including a proven track record, showing ability to achieve sales targets and goals.
- Certification by National Association of Sales Professionals (NASP) a plus
- Ability to manage time, prioritize, and shift quickly among various responsibilities.
- Demonstrated abilities with Critical Thinking/Problem Solving/Analysis, as well as accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, helpfulness, and passion for customer care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including phone and internet etiquette.
- Computer proficiency: MS Word, Outlook, and Excel, or similar. Proficiency with Excel must include ability to manipulate data, run needed reports and work on multiple screens effectively.
- Must attend the Atlanta Market trade shows (twice a year) and be able to attend other trade shows as needed. This includes scheduling and conducting appointments with specific customers at the shows. (10-15% of job duties). Trade show attendance requires continuous walking/standing for 10-12 hours per day, some bending, stooping and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
