What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Prince of Peace Preschool?
Position Summary: Provide an early childhood education environment that implements age-appropriate activities, maintains supportive relationships with staff, students and parents, and models appropriate early childhood practices. This position will be for the months September 2023-June 2024.
Responsibilities:
1. Teaches the Christian faith in accordance with the philosophy of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
2. Plans, implements, and evaluates developmentally appropriate activities that meets the students cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs through art, music, sensory, literacy, and play.
3. Makes reasonable efforts to meet the needs of each student
4. Able to multi-task and have frequent interruptions
5. Maintains a calm attitude and voice in all situations
6. Continuously supervises students to ensure health and safety and reports all incidents to the Preschool Director
7. Maintains a calm, organized, and clean classroom
8. Observes students to detect signs of illness, injury, emotional disturbance, learning concerns, possible neglect or abuse and immediately reports observations to Preschool Director.
9. Provides instruction to Substitutes when needed
10. Attends all conferences and meetings of the Preschool
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be 18 years of age
· Eligible to work in the United States
· Christian Faith
· Must pass a National Background check upon hiring
· CPR/First Aid training is to be completed prior to the first day of employment
· Degree in Early Childhood Education desired but not required
· History of working with young children
Compensation: DOE
