Principal, Assistant Principal
Position Requirements:
- Current Licensed staff shall meet or exceed all performance standards.
- Instructional candidates must hold a valid Virginia teaching license in the area to be taught.
- Staff who recently retired and have not satisfied their bonified break in service, and Retirement Opportunity Participants who have not completed their ROP hours for the upcoming school year, are not eligible to work summer school.
If a licensed teacher is unable to be secured, a substitute/temporary employee in certain circumstances may be considered. (See below for details).
Compensation/Candidate Types
- Certified staff working in their licensed capacity in summer instructional programs (06/13/2024-08/09/2024) will receive their hourly rate based upon the salary in their 2023-24 contract for summer instructional program hours worked. Actual start and end dates will vary by program.
- Teachers contracted to start in the 2024-25 school year, and Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA), Temporary Teachers, and Long-Term Subs who successfully completed a long-term certified assignments in 2023-24, shall receive the approved temporary rate of pay based on whether they currently hold a valid VDOE license.
- Licensed temporary rate $46.50/instructional hour. $32/hour for non-instructional hours.
- Non-Licensed temporary rate $26.75/hour.
Positions are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment and program needs.
An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work at the school.
