Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with specific expertise in managing and optimizing DB2 databases.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain DB2 database software on various platforms.
Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as required.
Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.
Implement and maintain database security protocols to protect sensitive data.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate database systems with other applications and infrastructure components.
Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other stakeholders as needed.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database administration.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a DB2 Database Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of DB2 database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
Experience with database backup and recovery procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
