Principal Financial Group is seeking an individual who consistently demonstrates exceptional skills and determination to join our team as an Assistant Director Risk Management. This role is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior risk and business leaders to utilize and further develop your risk expertise! As an AD of Risk Management, you will administer and implement complex risk management programs, processes, functions and procedures to make decisions that are guided by policies, procedures and business plan for Principal Bank.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Determine and implement risk management strategies to effectively mitigate potential threats
  • Oversee the development and implementation of risk assessment processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and manage risks across the organization
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures
  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance risk management practices
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful implementation of risk management initiatives

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management or a similar role
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing risk management strategies in a corporate setting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Ideal Candidate Profile: In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will have experience in the banking / financial services industry leading to strong internal business operational knowledge and business savvy. Experience with automation, data analysis / reporting / digitization to drive improvements and efficiencies to our risk capabilities.


Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$123000 - $167000 / year
Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
