What You'll Do

As a Financial Consultant II, you will get the opportunity to help our customers live their best lives by providing investment advisory education services in a call center environment to more complicated investment needs or sophisticated investors. 

 

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

 

  • Provide customers with information on the options available to them based on an in-depth interview and analysis of their short- and long-term needs, risk tolerance, and time horizon.
  • Identify and deliver appropriate financial solutions to meet the client’s needs spanning a variety of product lines including investment, risk-based, and fee-based solutions.
  • Assist in uncovering current or potential retail customer needs and partnering with appropriate teams as needed.
  • Stay abreast of financial and economic conditions and demonstrate the ability to articulate how that impacts our clients’ investments and goals.
  • Engage customers to build, deepen, and retain relationships with Principal.
  • Deliver a best-in-class experience through effective communication, active listening, and utilizing emotional intelligence to guide customers to their best option for financial success.
  • Take ownership of each customer interaction to understand the root cause of the customer needs.
  • Be astute to pick up on indirect cues during conversation, including identification of gaps in an individual's personal financial risk profile, to provide a holistic approach to managing that client's needs in alignment of a 'One Principal' culture.
  • Maintain proper documentation, compliance, and risk management standards with each customer interaction.
  • Complete and maintain all required regulatory and compliance related training, licenses, and designations.
  • Close business through timely and frequent follow ups with our prospects and customers.
  • Ensure safe, complete, and accurate handling of all customer data, documents, and applications.
  • Serve as mentor to less experienced staff.
    • May assist in training newer employees and be their first point of contact in answering questions and helping them to resolve issues.
    • May assist in development of strategy with business partners and handle escalated customer or training issues.
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as needed.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • SIE, 6 or 7, and IAR (Investment Advisory Representative) either 66 or 63&65 licensing required. 
  • Life & Health licensing preferred or will be expected to obtain in the future. 
  • 1 years of Advisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to establish trust and rapport easily with customers over the phone.
  • Strength in effectively simplifying complex financial concepts while building rapport and credibility with customers.
  • Possess proficiency with computer desktop technology and digital communication mediums.
  • Be able to successfully work independently, be a self-starter, demonstrate attention to detail and confidence in your decisions.
  • Committed to holding yourself to a high degree of integrity, building and sustaining strong trusted partnerships with customers and colleagues, and always acting in the best interest of the customer.
  • Must be adaptable to change and able to work independently with limited information and direction.
  • Strong effectiveness with time management and organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise involving retail investments products as well as employer sponsored retirement plans.
  • Drive to constantly improve the customer experience and comfort working in a collaborative team-based culture.
  • Demonstrate dedication to treating customers in an ethical and empathetic way; this includes possessing a passion to build and maintain relationships with customers and members of their household.
  • Experience providing feedback, mentorship, or training to grow and develop others.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$30.65 - $58.27 / hour
Time Off Program

Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Location

While we're open to all locations within the United States, we're currently focusing our hiring efforts within the Mountain and West Coast regions. 

 

Work Arrangements

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements.
