Accountant

Knowledge & Experience:

• Work independently & with a team in a Remote working Environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• CPA candidate preferred
• Healthcare experience preferred
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• An eye for detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet established timelines
• Proficient computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work effectively across functional departments
• Willingness to learn other accounting processes

1. Balance Sheet reconciliations
2. Monthly close journal entries (accruals, depreciation/amortization, allocations, etc.)
3. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
4. Assist with multiple companies and consolidating the financial statements
5. Analyze budget vs actual variances
6. Monitor financial accounts and transactions
7. Assist with A/P and A/R preparation and review
8. Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
9. Maintain accounting files and documentation in accordance with established procedures
10. Investigate and resolve issues with accounting or transactional discrepancies
11. Support the accounting team on tasks and projects as needed
12. Provides support to the entire Accounting/Finance Department
13. Provide support with annual reviews, audits, tax returns, etc.
14. Assist with creating and implementing new policies and procedures
15. Assist with Unanet system setup as needed
16. Other duties may be assigned

Primary to a candidate’s success in this role will be the ability to work collaboratively with corporate functional areas. This is a true partnership role. He or she must also work effectively across functional and organizational boundaries in supporting operations to deliver top line & bottom‐line expectations while delivering superior services.

They will need to be a team player and have a positive “Can Do” attitude.  The candidate will have a great attention to detail and have the patience to deal with many variables that may arise within the department.

Machines and Equipment:

This is a Remote Position and all required equipment will be provided by PCS. The incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as copier and fax machines.

Physical Activity:

The incumbent must be able to finger, grasp, feel, see, sit, hear, and speak.  This position is sedentary in nature with minimal lifting requirements. 

Working Conditions:

The incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise.  Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required.
