Warehouse Lead

Summary:
The position is responsible for storing, shipping and handling safe, quality ingredients and flavors at all our Carol Stream facility in a manner that promotes a safe workplace, protects the environment and exceeds regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will assist the Warehouse Manager in driving a lean organization that is cost effective while providing our employees with a positive, engaging work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- EHS:
- Ensure regulatory compliance in EHS.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture focused on achieving the goal of zero accidents, injuries, and no property damage at our facility.
- Lead by example by holding yourself accountable for your personal safety and the safety of those around you.
- Train our employees on safe practices, encourage employee involvement, and address safety issues in the workplace.
- Enforce and potential provide training on key safety and DOT/IATA/IMDG programs.
- Responsible for proper waste disposal including storage/disposal of any hazardous waste and recycling.
- Quality:

- Ensure distributing safe, quality food is a critical pillar to Prinova.
- Comply with rules set out by the government and certifying organizations including, but not limited to, FDA, DOT, Organic, Kosher, Halal, and BRC.
- Drive best practices in GMPs.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with BRC requirements.
- Productivity
- Actively involved in the execution of approved processes to distribute high quality, defect free blend and flavor products that meet customer specifications.
- Assisting in ensuring shipments get to customers on time and in full.
- Oversee a robust cycle count program.
- Act to improve key performance indicators including safety, property damage, complaints, RMAs, on time order fulfillment, cycle count accuracy, and orders picked per employee.
- Assist in maintaining visual management boards including KPI posting, and orders being picked.
- Leadership
- Assists with various Warehouse Manager’s responsibilities when the manager is out the office.
- Provide consistent leadership in directing/leading people to get the daily work completed and providing all employees a positive, engaging work environment.
- Notify Warehouse Manager of concerns with employees and potential improvements.
- Future Growth
- Lead by example the core value of customer focus by being dedicated to achieving complete customer satisfaction.
- Provide suggestions to optimize our Muirfield warehouse processes to provide the best low cost/high quality service.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow in receiving and/or shipping departments.
- Helps Train new staff members.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Required Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or bachelor’s degree in (specific degree) preferred.
- At least two years’ related experience required.
- Ability to pass Prinova internal forklift certification.
