We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for the development and operational support of the Priogen tech stack in supporting the business processes. You will join the Tech team and report directly to the Head of Tech. You really understand software development in various languages and use various cloud technologies, deployment scenarios – both on premise and in the (AWS) cloud – and platforms, like Linux and Windows. We use and combine various technologies to build and maintain our data-intensive forecasting and trading processes.
What you will do:
You will have the opportunity to design all our technological (IT-) solutions. We are a highly skilled team with a lot of knowledge of infrastructure and coding techniques. We build our own platforms to be able to support the very challenging models and intelligent automation tools that make Priogen unique. You will take on a broad range of tasks, including:
- Designing our data and application solutions, based on the architecture and infrastructure that your colleagues define with you
- Development, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of all the applications running within the company
- Supporting other stakeholders in the company, such as Trade Analysts and R&D, on the design and coding of the in-house models and other tooling in our data pipelines
- Analysis and monitoring of the tech stack with a focus on stability and performance improvements
- Communicating with business departments to enable optimal delivery of applications and functionality
- Documentation of the tech stack and the various applications and their implementation
- Keeping up with current developments for the open-source applications and platforms we use in our landscape
- Implementation, testing and documentation of backup/restoration procedures
- Testing and incorporating new open-source solutions into the stack
- Improving the pipeline: from development to deployment
- Managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, ECS, Lambda)
Who you are:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5 years of working experience within either software development or system administration
- Thorough experience with and knowledge of multiple programming languages (Java, C), AWS technologies, querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Bash, Python)
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux-based environments is a must
- Experience with docker architecture and operations (AWS, ECS is a plus)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with version control (preferably Git)
- Experience with cloud providers (preferably AWS)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (preferably Terraform)
- Experience with various opensource packages, e.g. PostgreSQL, Grafana, RabbitMQ
