Priority Pet Care Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned veterinary urgent care /emergency hospital in Pleasant View, UT.
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatment
- Provide compassionate care to animals in distress
- Be able to perform basic animal care tasks such as feeding, bathing, and grooming
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarian
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
**Requirements:**
- Previous experience in as a veterinary assistant or technician is required (2 years)
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Be a self-motivated and helpful team mate
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills with both pet owners and team members
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques for maintaining a sterile environment
- Understanding of animal husbandry practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Be able to be in a standing position for 3 hours at a time, be able to lift 40 lbs to assist veterinarian and other technicians.
- Must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Must work well with a small close-knit team of individuals.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Assistant certification or Certified Veterinary Technician License preferred.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
